ABSTRACT: The issues of geodynamic effect of a strong earthquake focus on strain processes in the earth crust are discussed. Processing and analyzing the data of the laser strain-graphic complex, operating at the mine gallery in the Baikal rift area, made it possible to obtain the new evidence in 2008. The unique case presented a good opportunity to watch the earthquake focus birth at distance of ~30 km, to discover new specific features and to confirm before-observed anomalies.

ABSTRACT: The mechanical-electric effects were studied on specimens under elastic load in a neutral medium when specimens were weakly electrically polarized. It is established that weak electric fields applied to specimens tend to enhance or to weaken mechanical-electric effects depending on a direction of the field action.

It is assumed that the spectral density maximums for acoustic emission can be governed by natural vibrations of components of a dissipative structure, the said vibrations can be generated by stress relaxation in a loaded material.

The research results allow better understanding of mechanisms for transformation of electric energy into elastic oscillations in a heterogeneous medium.

ABSTRACT: The authors present the research data on main strains at a rock drift, level -140 m, the Tashtagol Mine. The data were obtained by the method of three pairs of contour reference marks. It is demonstrated that orientation of principal tension and compression deformations undergoes appreciable changes during the stoping operation.

INVESTIGATION INTO THERMAL EMISSION FROM GEOMATERIAL SURFACES AT DIFFERENT STAGES OF DEFORMATION

ABSTRACT: Tests on detection of time variations in thermal radiation from geomaterial surface under monotonous loading in the conditions of uniaxial compression are reported. The test data provide the grounds to conclude that it is possible, in principle, to study regularities of the deformation evolution and the geomaterial failure by measuring variations in the intensity of the respective thermal radiation.

ABSTRACT: The authors explicate fundamentals of the procedure for estimation of geodynamic safety of underground mineral resources and the daylight surface on the basis of mathematical modeling of chamber mining by using MCE-software packages, where the non-linear hierarchic model of deformation and failure of mineral salt rocks is implemented. The procedure is worked out on the base of the retrospective analysis of causes, resulted in negative events at the Second Solikamsk Mine and the First Bereznikovsk Mine.

ABSTRACT:The deformation characteristics of hard rock specimens are investigated. Deformation, load and acoustic emission were recorded in the tests of specimens. DEFORMATION OF PIECEWISE-HOMOGENEOUS ROCK BLOCKS AND PILLARS

ABSTRACT: Under consideration are redetermined rock mechanical problems, dealing with deformation of pillars and rock blocks. The field data on displacements of the pillar boundary sections, being outside the contact area, give a rise of redetermination. The integral equation systems for stresses within zones of the «pillar-host rocks» contact are derived. The mathematical modeling results on deformation of a multicomponent pillar or a block boundary are presented.

ABSTRACT: The mathematic model of the «ice-rock» formation around a rectangular-shaped mine working is proposed. The SSS in rocks is formed under effect of the heat exchange between a ventilation flux, specified by alternating temperature, and a mass transfer within a rock mass. The elastic stress-strain state of the near-contour zone of a mine working is induced by an increased water volume in its phase transformation into ice, and is considered in terms of unrelated problems.

SEISMIC AND GPS DATA ON GEODYNAMIC PROCESSES AND DESTRUCTION OF THE EARTH’S CRUST IN THE TIEN SHAN REGION

ABSTRACT: Based on the Seismic Event Catalogue, KNET network (more than 6000 events), and GPS-data, the strain intensities were calculated and distribution in the territory, confined by coordinates 40.5–43.5° north latitude and 72.0–78.0° East longitude was mapped. The maximum intensity level was evaluated: ~10-8 year-1 (from seismic data) and ~10-7 year-1 (from GPS-data). Both approaches made it possible to identify the same higher strain intensity zones.

MODELING OF. A. GEOMATERIAL FLOW IN. A. CONVERGENT CHANNEL IN TERMS OF NON-ARCHIMEDIAN MATHEMATICAL ANALYSIS METHODS

ABSTRACT: The geomaterial flow in a convergent channel is considered in the terms of mathematical models of a medium, exhibiting the hierarchy of structural levels. The non-Archimedian analytical methods are used to formulate a closed geomedium model with two scale levels. The microlevel model considers the block medium structure and the interblock slipping under the non-linear law. The finite element algorithm and a software worked out allows that the plane boundary deformation problems can be solved. The numerical solutions to the problem on a geomaterial flow in a convergent radial flow are obtained. The medium deformation patterns at different parameters are presented.

ABSTRACT: The calculation algorithm for the stress tensor components is proposed on the basis of the solution to 2D elastic dynamic problem for a model exhibiting a local heterogeneity of arbitrary geometry. The algorithm allows that the stress distribution and displacements of a laminar medium with arbitrary location of artificial electromagnetic or seismic field sources can be calculated.

ANALYSIS OF RESERVOIRS SEEPAGE FLOW AND PIPE FLOW COUPLING AND WELL STABILITY

ABSTRACT: In order to realize full coupling simulate analysis of reservoirs seepage and perforation pipeline. The numerical model of flow and solid coupling in reservoir under stress is set up, by combining knowledge of fluid mechanics in porous medium and fluid-solid coupling theory. According to the hydrokinetics pipe flow theory, and using Navier-Stokes equation to simulate the fluid motion in the well casing and perforation, four systems of partial differential equations are resolved with unity coupling, with adoption of COMSOL Multiphysic, a multi-physical quantity coupling analyzing software, to simulate and analyze the set-up model numerically. The study of researching the simulating result shows that the pressure drop and strain are biggest at the perforation and the flow-rate at the perforation and well casing are bigger than in reservoirs, expectant purpose cannot come at injecting for driving oil and gas. The simulating result proves that the set-up model and solution are effective.

NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF PSEUDO-STEADY ADSORPTION-MOBILIZATION OF COALBED METHANE

ABSTRACT: Considering the migration process of coalbed and its complex of methane in reservoir, high order nonlinear partial differential equations are adopted to describe the migration of coalbed methane. To solve the problem better, the article adopts the COMSOL Multiphysic commercial numerical simulating software to solve the set-up non-steady model by simulating. The results show that dynamic curve of pressure and density simulated by the software is accord with practice. At the same time, process of pressure drop can be simulated by dynamic visual module. So the software has pretty good use and scientific research value in the coalbed methane simulation.

LOSS OF THE PITWALL AND MINE WORKING STABILITY UNDER CREEP CONDITIONS

ABSTRACT:The long-term strength criterion, based on the maximum shear stress, was employed to evaluate the upper and lower time limits for the pit wall failure for the plane deformation of a stiff-creeping body. The scheme of an elastic-creeping body was used to solve problems of the creep strain evaluation, initial and complete failure of circular cylindrical workings, supports and a spherical cavity under the hydrostatic rock pressure.

ABSTRACT: The viscous-elastic model of a tectonic fault partially exposed at the free surface is proposed. It is established that initially the fault faces move reciprocally at a constant rate, determined by viscous-elastic properties of a fault zone. The uniform motion period is evaluated. It is shown that the conditions, under which the viscous-elastic model can be replaced with a viscous model, depend on structural parameter θs.

THE STRESS-STRAIN STATE OF UNDERWORKED ROCKS

ABSTRACT: The process for the abutment pressure evaluation for a mined foliated mineral seam is considered. Host rocks are assumed also stratified. The singular integral equations, describing deformation of a rock bed and the front mineral bed, are derived. Stepwise approximations are used to find the abutment pressure on a mineral bed, the abutment pressure exhibiting the dependence on geometry and location of beds, mechanical characteristics of beds and pillars, left in worked out areas. Numerical results are discussed.

ABSTRACT:The stress-strain state in the vicinity of two chambers, oblong parallelepiped in a shape, was studied in terms of the elastic-plastic medium model. It is established that the stress concentration is higher in the vicinity of a smaller chamber as compared to that around a large one. The maximum stress values are registered for the combined effect of static and quasistatic loads.

ABSTRACT: The analytical seismic regime data, cited for the Norilsk complex deposit, were taken as the basis to conclude that the dynamics of technogenic impacts on a highly stressed rock mass must be taken into account, otherwise the rock-burst prognosis appears inefficient in most cases. To improve the efficiency of the measures aimed to reduce engineering-seismic risks, it is recommended not only evaluate, but also to control the regime of technogenic impacts on a rock mass and manage these impacts.

MANIFESTATION OF QUASIPERIODOCITY, SYNCHRONIZATION, AND REALIZATIONS OF. A. RANDOM PROCESS IN. A. SEISMIC EVENT SERIES

ABSTRACT: The authors consider a number of Asian seismic active areas: the Tien-Shan, the Baikal, Sakhalin, and Kamchatka and analyze the chronological seismicity distribution in order to establish the quasiperiodic variations, viz., daily variations, first of all, and sequences, corresponding to random-process realizations. It is shown that the phase of daily variations in averaged seismic activity is synchronized with local time, rather than with the moon-sun tide phase. This argues in favor of the ionsphere effect, because the daily variations relating to the change of the light and dark periods are actually specific to ionosphere effects. It is shown that sequence of seismic events within short time intervals corresponds to the random process realizations, described in Poiya distribution.

GEORESONANCE ROLE IN TECTONIC EARTHQUAKES

ABSTRACT:The research object is bifurcated spheroidal oscillations of the elastic compressible Earth’s model. They are caused by the loss of the oscillation stability under the inertia force effect on the Earth’s rotation around its own polar axis in the potential attration field, generated by the cosmic bodies: the Moon, the Sun, and planets of the Solar system. It is established that georesonances, quite presumable under above conditions, can work as a release mechanism for tectonic earthquakes.

ABSTRACT: The initial diapirism stage is studied on the model of the gravity instability of a two-layered non-Newtonian viscous-plastic medium on a stiff base under horizontal tectonic effect. The effect of rheological parameters and tectonic forces on geometry and the rate of growth of new-born diapirs is evaluated. The loss of stability of layers becomes impossible at certain parameters.

ABSTRACT: Orientation and rock mass motions along weakening planes, formed during seismic event manifestations, were studied from the data on seismic activity monitoring within 1998–2008 at the Tashtagol mine. Large-scale seismic events are generated under certain conditions involving this job fulfilled in the required amount, intersecting of most weakened epicenter planes in a mined block or an adjacent-to-it block and a deviation from the normal law of the histogram for distribution of seismic events, induced by technological and coyote blasts.
